Ever since high school I was never thin. I joined numerous gyms, u weight loss and tried all the beach body work outs. I never got any results or felt any better. I had just joined weightwatchers when I found out I was pregnant. I did not have an ideal pregnancy, I had a sinus infection, bronchitis and eventually landing myself on bed rest at 31 weeks. When I say bed rest I mean bed rest! I was allowed to use the washroom and that was it. At 36 weeks I was allowed to sit on the couch!
Needless to say I gained weight, a lot of weight, 40 pounds to be exact. I welcomed my baby girl at 38 weeks 2 days via emergency C-section. It took around 7 weeks for my body to recover enough to be able to work out so I joined Jessica’s strollersize class. I was so nervous, I sent Jessica a ton of messages! I wasn’t in shape before I was pregnant, I wasn’t mobile at all for the majority of my pregnancy and I had major abdominal surgery. I was sure I would make a fool of myself.
Once started though I was hooked! I could go at my own pace and not be embarrassed and seeing moms at different stages was so inspiring I pushed myself harder! I ended up spraining my rotator cuff working out at home and after taking a few weeks to recovery I was back in class. Jessica worked closely with me to help with modifications for my shoulder which was still tender. She also showed me things I could do at home to help.
Thanks to Jessica I was able to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and into my pre pregnancy jeans by the time my daughter was 5 months! I couldn’t believe it. I have never been in this good of shape in my life, cardio used to kill me but now I’m in her cardio class and loving it! Everyone made a lot of comments about how big I got but now I’m healthier, happier and looking the best I ever have.
